WELL WELL What do we have here...
Would that be evidence that Hungry Jacks' potato things are infact CHIPS! CHIPS.... are you reading the same sign that I am reading? That says CHIPS, right?
Well to the less than polite Hungry Jacks worker at Hungry Jacks FIGTREE that corrects me every single time I order CHIPS.... You can go get JIGGY WITH A WAA WAA BRUSH!
So disappointed that my FRIES friend was not at the payment window today..... I love being RIGHT!
Moving right along! Because I really DO NOT give a monkeys bum whether they are CHIPS or FRIES!!!
So our day hadn't started very well. Those of you that follow (or STALK) as on facebook and instagram would know that James had a massive meltdown, we still don't know why!
So I had an appointment (for myself) scheduled for our FABULOUS GP this morning.... I decided to use the time slot for MR MELTDOWN.
Now we all know that the GP isn't going to be able to help with the meltdown, BUT I am a firm (VERY FIRM) believer in the GUT/BRAIN relationship! The last time my son was carrying on with these major control issues and endless meltdowns he was tested for parasites and yeast. Having both and treated for BOTH! Let me tell you.... he became a DIFFERENT child!
So.... with a suspect looking rash on face and horrendous attitude change since he decided to eat JATZ biscuits again, the GP and I both agree that it could be a yeast overgrowth. Now in a ASD children this is a nightmare as any GUT issue affects the brain.
So I left with a pathology slip for parasites and yeast and a script for treatment because I am going to treat him like he has it!
I will keep you posted on his results... but this is the reason that a lot of children on the AUTISM SPECTRUM do not eat SOY, CASEIN, GLUTEN and CORN! Its all to do with the GUT/BRAIN relationship. And any parent of and ASD child will tell you what a nightmare these ingredients are BUT it would appear however MOST dietitians are still yet to catch up and will tell you there is NO link. We are lucky enough to have the most amazing ASD dietitian. We are where we are today because of her.... I am sure I will give you more and more on the GUT/BRAIN relationship as time goes on.
So went to do some exercise last night! It was FABULOUS.... came home to sleeping children and my favourite TV show, ALONE! And I may or may not have eaten TWO chocolate bars.... OK I DID!
So one of the guys on the TV show ALONE is an ex Army solider. He has struggled with mental illness since leaving the forces. He made a statement in last nights episode that really rang true. He said said 'For every 1 step forward there are 3 steps back, but you just keep climbing'.... OMG its so true!!! Whether you are a parent of a special needs child or suffering through something yourself you just need to KEEP CLIMBING!!!
