Feeling HOT, HOT, HOT!
It is so HOT here in NSW.
Wow... so HOT!
This heat has taken me back to my Cabaret days. Cabaret dancing days that is. Way before children.
Back to the days where my hair colour was the same as snow, I wore the longest false eyelashes, drew my eyebrows on, wore the smallest outfits, feather back packs and a feather crown almost as tall as me.
A little bit of me misses those days....
Back then I had no idea where on would be now. Perhaps dancing on a cruise ship? Teaching Ballet? Be an RAD examiner? They are all things I thought I would be doing. How WRONG was I.
I am now a Mum. I am an Autism Mum, Autism advocate and blogger all hats that I never anticipated I would be wearing. But as manic and chaotic as it is, I LOVE IT. I am the happiest I have ever been and I feel so ME. So well rounded and comfortable in my own skin.
So today was take 2 attempting to get James' hair cut.
It was a fail.
James really isn't in the greatest space today.
He woke screaming this morning, mid dream.
He really wanted to stay home this morning but he had sensory OT.
OT went really, really well, James gave Lara her Christmas present which he has been excited to do all week long. Lara loved her paintings.
Once we left OT, we headed straight to the Barber, unfortunately he started screaming 'NO haircut' and 'haircut shut' as soon as we pulled up in the carpark.
We don't push James when he displays anxiety.
We will simply try again on another day. Daddy has more success than Mummy, so he is up next.
We are home now and as it is SO HOT, we are locked in.
All the curtains are closed and the AC in on full.
Maybe the heat is knocking James around a little bit today... who knows, half the time you don't know what sets the sensory angel off.
It could also be James' new vitamins. James started his Vitamin B & Zinc cream a couple of days ago. It can cause hyperactivity for a little while. No other issues at this stage. I do find that James has been concerntrating a lot more since we started the cream, but that may be a coincedence. We have taken away pre school at present so he may just be more alert and attentive as he isn't needed to regulate as often from overload.
Well stay safe and happy in this heat folks.
