Well I didn't get a chance to BLOG away to you all yesterday!
So I will bore you in today's blog with our adventures from yesterday and today.
YESTERDAY we welcomed a brand new family member, Jordan!
He is absolutely beautiful... it was so nice to hold a newborn again. James was so well behaved at the hospital, in the past James would not have been great in that environment. James' anxiety would normally get the better of him, too much to process and too many new faces to emotionally handle!
So yesterday morning was 'home time', James and Scarlett where happy playing around the house (demolishing everything) while I cleaned and did laundry.
Then we were in the car at 11.30am to head to James' speech therapy appointment. I was a little deflated after James' appointment yesterday. Two weeks ago James had a follow up assessment (his AMAZING speech therapist) does this every 6 months to make sure we are working on challenges not what he already has down pat. So yesterdays appointment was the first one of working on all new things!!! So in a way its like going back to square one! So if you see me around talking to James and I sound like a looney repeating sounds and phrases at him... just know this is a technique called BOMBARDMENT! The idea is to bombard James repetitively until his auditory system transfers that into his speech. It is a really successful technique used on James... he responds well! So I will continue to sound like a LOONEY at home and in public because it works... and WHATEVER IT TAKES!!!
After some 'Mummy time' in the afternoon, I raced home jumped in the car excitedly with the family and off we went on our family adventure to met Jordan.
Fridays we get up early and head to BUBBLE & BOUNCE at the local indoor soccer centre.
This is a morning that we tick off two of James' senses for his sensory diet.... PROPRIOCEPTIVE & VESTIBULAR.
We absolutely love Bubble & Bounce... It is 4 inflated Jumping castles. But its so much more than the jumping castles. Gary (the owner) and his little sidekick Britnee are really onto a winner. Britnee is the most loving, caring young lady and the way she interacts and treats all the children is so lovely to see! She clearly has a passion for childcare and this reflects in her leadership with these children. When James wakes on a Friday morning and knows we are going to Bubble & Bounce he says 'See Britnee and Gary'... thats great SOCIAL INTERACTION, right there!!!!
After Bubble & Bounce we normally head over to see one of James' chiropractors, Nerida. But today James wanted to leave B & B early and I couldn't hang around with him till the appointment time.
So today we hopped passed Daddy's clinic and James played receptionist for the 15 minutes we were there.
Home by 11.30am to watch USIAN BOLT take away GOLD once again!!! How inspiring! Even James was screaming 'GO BOLT GO'!!!!!!
Well there's a little update for you all.... I now have to hop off my computer and sort out the beach that has just happened to appear on my balcony! Why can't the children leave the SAND in the SANDPITT!!!!! CUE massive EYEROLL!
Much Love, Sharna xx
